Last spring, our family decided to improve our gardening setup, specifically for the pots where we grow tomatoes and cucumbers. We used 10 pots, each 20 inches in diameter and 13 inches deep. To provide extra stability, we placed a couple of bricks at the bottom of each pot, which helped weigh them down. After filling the pots with soil, we planted tomatoes in four of them and cucumbers in the remaining six.
For the cucumbers, we implemented a simple yet effective trellis system, arranging the posts in a row on our porch and connecting them. Each cucumber plant was placed in its own pot. As the plants grew, they climbed up one side of the trellis and back down the other, which worked perfectly. This setup allowed us to produce a large quantity of cucumbers with minimal maintenance, as the design made weeding very easy.
Additionally, the support system we used was fantastic for keeping our plants upright and neat. The posts went in quickly, and the rings held everything securely, providing solid support for the plants. The tomato plants also thrived in their individual containers, offering ample space for growth and reducing the need for constant weeding.

I decided it was time to buy my wife new tomato cages and seen these. She used tomato cages that never stood up all season and always tipped over. That always caused her to work harder keep the plants upright.
