Our favorite! Jade surpasses all others in taste. A round podded bean that produces long, straight 6”-7” pods with distinctive dark green color, tender texture and sweet flavor. Upright bush holds the pods above the ground, which protects them from splashing soil and disease. After danger of frost and when soil has warmed to 60 degrees or above plant in rows. Make furrows about 2” deep and space seed 3”-4” apart. For continuous supply, make successive plantings every 2 to 3 weeks through mid summer. Beans dislike acidic soil, so adding lime is helpful or wood ashes. Beans love wood ashes.
