Description
Broccoli – Seed Count 120-130
The best success is with spring and fall crops. While more heat tolerant varieties are now on the market, broccoli does not generally do well in hot weather. Can be planted directly in the garden, plant ¼” deep. Plants should be spaced 12” to 14” apart. For an early crop, sow seed indoor or cold frame one month before planting time and transplant to the growing area, when plants are large enough. Ideal germination temperature is 75 degrees but will also germinate as low as 50 degrees.
Waltham – Heirloom organic, 75 days.
Prized heirloom produces scads of 4”-8” dense, uniform, blue-green heads that are as tasty as they are prolific, After the central head is cut. Many delectable side shoots will form.
